Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information J&D Web Services collects through this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We keep this short and specific on purpose — we only collect what we need to answer your inquiry, and we never sell your information.
The short version
If you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, business email, company name, a dropdown selection about your current website, and your message — so we can reply and discuss your project. We store it securely with Google Firebase, we don't use advertising trackers, and we never sell or rent your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing [email protected].
01 Who we are
J&D Web Services (“J&D,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a web development studio based in North Carolina, United States. We operate this website to describe our services and to let prospective clients contact us. We are the party responsible for the personal information collected through this site.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
02 Information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you enter:
- First and last name
- Business email address
- Company or business name
- Your website today — a dropdown selection (e.g. “No Website,” “Outdated Website”)
- Your message — the project details, timeline, or budget you choose to share
Please only include information in the message field that you're comfortable sharing. You don't need to provide sensitive personal information to contact us, and we ask that you don't.
Information collected automatically
We do not run analytics software or advertising trackers on this site. However, like almost all websites, certain technical data is processed by the infrastructure providers that deliver the site to you. When your browser loads our pages, our service providers (see Section 5) may automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the date and time of your request. This is used to deliver and secure the website — not to profile or track you across other sites.
03 How we use your information
We use the information you submit only to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about your project
- Prepare quotes, scopes, and proposals you request
- Provide and, where applicable, deliver our services
- Keep a record of our correspondence and business relationship
- Comply with our legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse of the form
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
04 Legal bases for processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Consent — you voluntarily submit the contact form to reach us. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — responding to inquiries, running our studio, and keeping the site secure.
- Contract — where you engage us for services, to take steps at your request and perform that agreement.
05 How your information is shared
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make this website and our communications work, and only as needed:
- Google Firebase (Firestore & Hosting) — stores your form submission and hosts the website. Your submitted data is held in Google's cloud infrastructure. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site; Google may receive your IP address when fonts load.
- Email — we reply to you using our email provider, which processes the messages we exchange.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of J&D, our clients, or others.
06 International data transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers (including Google) store and process data on servers that may be located in the United States or other countries. If you access this site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, our providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
07 How long we keep it
We keep contact-form submissions for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, for the duration of our working relationship plus a reasonable period afterward for our business, tax, and legal records. If you're not a client and there's no ongoing reason to keep your information, we delete it on request or as part of routine cleanup. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 9).
08 Cookies & tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking, and we do not currently use analytics cookies. Any storage used by the site is strictly technical — for example, the mechanisms our hosting and database provider (Firebase) use to load and secure the page. Because we don't run tracking, there is no advertising profile of you built from this site.
09 Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information. We honor these requests regardless of your location — just email us.
If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR)
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request access to or deletion of your personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your information, so there is nothing to opt out of
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and tell us what you'd like. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10 How we protect your information
We use reputable providers and reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls that limit who can view submitted leads. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
11 Children's privacy
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12 Links to other sites
Our website and our client work may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
13 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
